Chateau de Parenchere

An Atherton Wine Imports Exclusive on the West Coast

Robert Parker calls Chateau de Parenchere "one of the best Bordeaux Superieur estates" and a "perennial overachiever."

Jean Gazaniol, proprietor and winemaker, studied enology at the University of Bordeaux with the great Emile Peynaud and has run the estate since 1981.

We import two of their cuvees: the Bordeaux Superieur Rouge and the Cuvee Raphael Gazaniol. The Gazaniol is named after Jean's father, who purchased the property in 1958, and is made from the oldest vines and best parcels.

All of their vineyards are managed sustainably using natural methods of promoting vine health. In order to maximize the potential of their terroir, 32 plots are vatted separately and subjected to a strict selection process before acceptance into the final blend.
